12SR is a 12-step based discussion and yoga practice open to anyone and everyone dealing with their own addictive behavior or affected by the addictive behavior of others. This is an open and inclusive group. All A’s are welcome. In this group, we weave together the ancient wisdom of yoga and the practical tools of 12-step programs. We recognize that the ‘issues live in our tissues’ and through our intentional, themed yoga practice, guided by our breath, we invoke the God of our understanding to help us release whatever is held
Kacy Soderquist Zurkus has been practicing yoga for nearly 20 years, starting with Bikram in Boston's South End. After running her first marathon in 2001, she was trained in group fitness instruction through ACE Fitness and taught step classes in Charlestown, where she also discovered vinyasa at Charlestown Yoga. Since then she has run five marathons and at least a dozen half marathons. Running, though, wasn't enough to build strength, so she added power yoga, tabata tread, and muscle and core conditioning into her routine. In April 2017, she completed both her 200 hour teacher training at the Yoga Loft and her Y12SR training with Nikki Meyers at Kaia Yoga in Westport, CT. She teaches vinyasa classes at Infinity Fitness in North Andover, yoga and core conditioning classes at the Yoga Loft in Wilmington. Kacy also offers weekly Y12SR workshops at the Lake Shore Retreat in Wakefield and the Megan House in Lowell as well as monthly Y12SR workshops at the Yoga Loft in Wilmington and Buddhaful Souls in Rowley.
